Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She has written fifteen books, and she is co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington has been a journalist, TV personality writer, philanthropist, and philanthropist for more than 10 years. Her role also includes being the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online news magazine. Originating from Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England with her family at age 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. At 21 she became president of the famed debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. When she graduated, she made her name as a conservative syndicated columnist and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online voice portal which offered critical observations on the political scenario. It was her celebrity that has led to the attraction of many prominent contributors to share their views on current events as well as politics and culture. Arianna became famous after she decided to run as an Independent candidate in the California Recall Election in order to succeed former Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna led a Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient vehicles. Forbes named her as 12th on its top 10 list of Most Popular Media Women. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their list of the top 100 in 2010. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her the president of their media company, which also included additional AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos, a journalist and management consultant. Even though she was close with her father, the relationship she had to her mom was the defining factor in the remainder of her life. In her early years she demonstrated the leadership abilities and is a household name. In her 16th year, she returned to the UK to study and enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college, she joined the debating Society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. In 1972, she earned an advanced degree in Economics. Her career as an anchor and reporter started after her graduation. Her appearance in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. She began to write books with his guidance in editing.
