Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an author TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host and also the proprietor and publisher of The Huffington Post. She moved to Greece to England at the age of 16 and received an MA from Cambridge University in Economics. She was the first person non-UK to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Following the graduation ceremony, she became a well-known Conservative syndicated journalist. A few more years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political landscape. The fame she gained helped her to convince several famous people to share their opinions on current events, political and culture. Arianna gained fame in 2003 when she decided to run as an independent candidate in the California recall election to replace the Governor Davis. The project she headed was the Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Forbes listed her as one of as one of the "most important women" in media and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most important media figures in 2009. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media group which included many existing AOL products, such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and management consultant Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. While she was close with her father, the relationship she had to her mom was the defining factor in the remainder of her life. In her earliest years she showed leadership abilities which are still widely admired. When she moved to England, she was 16 to continue her education and then enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she was a member of the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman president, and also the only foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of Master in Economics. After her graduation, she became a critic columnist and television host. She also appeared in the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books taking editorial help from Bernard Levin.
